Natural Remedies for Christmas over indulgence

Due to the time of year I thought I would look at Christmas over indulgence.  Most people will feel the effects of over indulgence of rich foods and alcohol. Here are some natural remedies that may just help.

peppermint teaIndigestion – try drinking peppermint tea, this can help calm the stomach. At the first sign of indigestion drink a glass of water, this will dilute the stomach acid.

 

GingerNausea – ginger is well known for helping nausea, either drinking ginger tea, infusing some raw ginger in hot water or eating foods containing ginger may help.

 

Banana appleHangover – plenty of fluids and sleep it off are the best cure, but if this is not possible eat starchy foods such as crackers, bread, eat apples and bananas which will restore minerals and potassium. Eggs contain an amino acid that also helps combat hangovers.

 

EchinceaColds – changing our diet, burning both ends of the candle etc can affect our immune system which can lead to colds. Vitamin C and Echinacea should be taken at the first sign of a cold.
