paula baileyIn 2011 I trained at the Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies and gained my ITEC level 3 Diploma in Massage. This was the foundation and the start of Tranquil Treatments. During 2011 I also gained a qualification for Ear Candling. I started off as a mobile therapist until I could progress to renting a therapy space.

2012 was spent adding more therapies and skills to my repertoire . During 2012 I achieved a Diploma in Traditional Thai Foot Massage, a Diploma in Chair/Seated Acupressure On Site Massage, a Diploma in Indian Head Massage and achieved my Hydrotherm Level 1 qualification. I also attended a workshop at Jackie Hamilton School of Therapies for Advanced Massage.

2013 continued with more training. During 2013 I was attuned to Reiki level one and Reiki level 2. This was the year that my business grew and I was able to leave my part time job for Social Services. During the summer of 2013 I was able to rent a therapy room part time at Bayleaf in Hempnall Green, near Norwich.

In 2014 I achieved two more certificates. I achieved a Diploma in Manicure and Pedicure and gained a certificate for Classic Facial and Skin Care.

My client base built up at the therapy room and I also started to visit the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital once a month to provide massages to the staff to help reduce their stress levels and look after their well being.

From January 2015 I was able to rent the therapy room at Bayleaf therapy centre on a full time basis. This was important to me to be able to create the therapy room I and my clients desired. As well as continuing the monthly well being days at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital I also started attending a local supermarket each month to provide massages to the staff and made regular visits to the UEA staff in Norwich.

In 2016 I concentrated on my business building relationships with other health professionals who I can confidently refer my clients to when needed. Again this is something that is important to me.

My client base has continued to grow and in October 2016 I achieved my goal of my only stream income being massage work only and I no longer have other jobs to supplement it.

My background before I became a complementary therapist was in care work. I looked after adults with learning difficulties for many years and I also worked for various adult care teams within Social Services. I have always been a person that looks after others well being.
