A week in the life of Tranquil Treatments, Norfolk, Massage Therapist

I have realised that I have a bit of a fear about blogging. So to overcome this obstacle I have decided it might be a good idea to write a blog at the end week informing you of what I have been up to. So here goes.

14th December 2015 – 20th December 2015

Massage in the workplace.

On Monday 14th December I attended the monthly well-being day at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. I have been doing this for 2 years now. I was fully booked up from 12pm until 6pm. At the hospital I offer staff back, neck and shoulder massages, Indian Head Massage and Reiki. The staff pay for this themselves but get the treatment at a reduced rate. It is very popular and I now have a waiting list. Although its a physically demanding day, massaging for 6 hours with no break, it’s also a very rewarding day making sure our NHS staff are being looked after.

Most popular treatment.

The most popular therapy this week has been a back massage. This is by far the most popular treatment I do at Bayleaf therapy room in Hempnall Green near Long Stratton. The reason people have back massages varies from easing lower back pain, to easing headaches from tension held in the neck and traps. Some of my clients finds it helps with shoulder issues.

Gift Vouchers.

These have been hugely popular this week. I have sold a lot of vouchers this Christmas. Vouchers can be for a specific treatment or for a monetary value. Vouchers are valid for 1 year. It’s not too late to purchase a voucher if you are local to Newton Flotman.

Saying goodbye.

It was with much sadness that I had to say goodbye to one of my clients this week. She had lung cancer but sadly she lost her brave battle on Thursday. I used to visit this lady in her own home and then once she went into a hospice I visited her there to give her treatments. She always looked forward to my visits and felt that she got a great deal from her therapies. For me, it was a huge honour to be on her journey with her through her illness until the end. At least she is now pain free and suffers no more.
