This week at Tranquil Treatments, Massage Therapy, Norfolk

21st December – 27th December 2015

I’ve had a bit of a delay in writing this due to Christmas but better late than never. I hope you have had a lovely Christmas.

So what’s happened with Tranquil Treatments this week? Due to Christmas it’s been a quieter week.

On Monday 21st I visited a husband and wife who live just outside Bungay. I visit this couple once a fortnight and they both have an hours massage each. The wife always has a full body massage but the husband changes his treatments as required. Sometimes he has a back massage and backs of legs as he sometimes has problems with tight hamstrings, but if he has had a stressful week or has been getting headaches he has a back massage followed by some neck stretches and a scalp massage. This may help loosen up the neck muscles and the scalp which may contribute to the headaches. I also target the acupressure points for headaches and migraines.

Most popular treatment.

The most popular therapy at Bayleaf therapy room, Hempnall Green, near Harleston this week, has been the Thai Foot Massage. This therapy lasts for 1 hour and the feet, ankles, lower legs and knees are massaged. A wooden Thai stick is used to stimulate points on the bottom of the feet that correspond to certain areas and organs of the body. This is similar to Reflexology. Possible benefits from Thai Foot Massage are:

  • Balances the systems of the body
  • Help reduce lymphatic swelling in feet, ankles and lower legs,
  • Improve circulation,
  • Reduces stiffness and improves flexibility,
  • Gives an overall feeling of relaxation and well being.

The treatment is performed with you laying comfortably on the massage couch with a heated blanket. Clothing does not have to be removed, all that is required is access to the feet, lower legs and knees. A lot of my clients feel this is more relaxing than a full body massage. If you would like to book a treatment and try it for yourself then please get in touch either by filling in the contact form or by calling me.

The end part of the week was taken up with festive celebrations and spending time with my family. I was very lucky to have some lovely gifts from some of my regular clients. It was nice to have some quiet time to relax.

So, the next big event is New Years. I would like to wish everyone a very happy new year and a bright, healthy 2016. If you are heading out for New Year’s Eve then stay safe and well. If you are staying home, I wish you a restful time and if you are spending the new year on your own (not your own choice) then my thoughts are with you.

Happy new year from Paula at Tranquil Treatments.
